The must-see gastronomic outings of the Arcachon Basin

On holiday or on weekends in Arcachon, eating well is important. Also, how do you resist the call of the coastal promenade restaurants? The day has just begun, you can already enjoy the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at the Hotel Point France. Little greedy! If you prefer to enjoy the last moments under the duvet, you can even have it brought directly to your room. Hot drinks, fresh fruit juices, pastries, fruit salads but also boiled eggs and cheeses, if you are more salty in the morning; ideally accompany your alarm clock. And it’s not going to stop there. All you have to do is stroll along the Basin, under a beautiful clear sky, to dig your stomach a little. Wouldn’t it be lunchtime? Let yourself be tempted by the few culinary addresses of the area, you know you want to!

Fine dining and local produce

A stone’s throw from your 4-star hotel awaits restaurants with fish and seafood cards that could make your taste buds capsize. Located on the waterfront, the restaurant “Chez Diego” offers fresh and refined local produce. Their seafood, fish, crab and lobster platters… will delight you, no doubt. The restaurant also offers vegan and vegetarian recipes to welcome everyone under its roof.

You will also find your happiness on the “Patio” menu, led by chef Thierry Renou who makes a point of offering products bought daily at the market, or at the “Café de la Plage” where pancakes and ice creams compete for the limelight. Installed on the terrace, contemplating the returns of the boats, your mind calms down to let your taste buds enjoy every bite.

The gourmet break with refreshing flavours

Did you think you’d be satisfied with your lunch break? You’ve got it all wrong again!

The weather is pleasant and warm. Your little roadtrip around the Basin is a little hungry. Don’t worry, we know one of the best glaciers in the region; “Maxi Gellati.” Installed on the Atlantic coast since 1990, it offers ice cream with a thousand colors from the Italian tradition.

You could also stop by the “El Bocadillo” sandwich shop. Their specialty, Lou Landais, made with grilled breast, zucchini carpaccio, candied shallot, homemade Salardian apples and Béarnaise sauce, is to die for.

Last stop At the Little Creux du Bassin. Renowned for their warm welcome, their quiches, burgers and sandwiches will accompany you in a pleasant end to the day.

We could continue on this good momentum for a long time to come. The surroundings of the Hotel Point France are full of culinary nuggets, you will understand. Salty or sweet, small or large hunger, the gastronomic addresses of the Basin have beautiful discoveries in store for you. A weekend won’t be enough to taste them all… There is only one solution available to you: come back and give us a little cuckoo in a while. We’ll be happy to see you again. See you soon then!
